Langkawi Wildlife Park
Langkawi Wildlife Park is a great place for children and nature lovers because this mini zoo offers close interaction with animals. Visitors can hand-feed almost all animals in the park. This is a special experience especially for kids encouraging them to love animals. In exhibit are some species of mammals, reptiles, birds and fishes. Internal guides are also available around the park to explain more about the animals in exhibit.
Right after walking through the entrance you’ll be greeted by some macaws and parrots. Offering them some sunflower seeds and peanuts is a heart-warming especially watching how they pick the seeds from their casings. Various types of animal foods are sold inside the park as a complementary activity inside the park.
There’s a romantic landscaped pond where all sorts of exotic waterfowl are roaming free. Here you can see flamingos, cranes, ducks and some sea birds. Nearby is a cage of super-cute mouse-deers. Walk along reptiles exhibit and then to the aviary. Various types of bird species roam free. Here you can let some birds feed right off your hand.
There are so much to experience at Langkawi Wildlife Park which is why it is a place worth a visit. The park was opened to public on 30th November 2002 as ‘Bird Paradise Langkawi’ and officially launched by then Chief Minister of Kedah, Dato’ Seri Syed Razak Syed Zain on 24th December 2002. The name was changed to ‘Langkawi Wildlife Park’ on 1st January 2006 in line with new range if wildlife exhibits.
